Cybersecurity

Department of Computing

Programme Overview

The Cybersecurity programme equips students with the knowledge and skills to protect digital systems, networks, and data from cyber threats, as well as to analyse vulnerabilities, implement security measures, and respond to cyber incidents. Through a curriculum that emphasises cryptography, network security, ethical hacking, digital forensics, and risk management, students develop a strong foundation in cybersecurity principles and practices. The programme offers hands-on learning opportunities, including cybersecurity labs, simulated attack and defence exercises, internships, and industry collaborations, where students gain practical experience in threat detection, incident response, and security operations. Graduates are prepared for careers in cybersecurity analysis, ethical hacking, digital forensics, security consulting, and risk management, or to continue their studies in postgraduate programmes in cybersecurity, computer science, or related fields.
